Rasikh Salam Reprimanded for Excessive Celebration in IPL Match

Delhi Capitals Bowler Faces Disciplinary Action

Kashmir's Fast-Medium Bowler Under Scrutiny

Rising star Rasikh Salam, a 17-year-old fast-medium bowler from Kashmir, has been reprimanded for excessive celebration during a recent Indian Premier League (IPL) match.

Salam, who represents Delhi Capitals (DC), was cited for breaching the IPL's Code of Conduct during his team's clash against the Gujarat Titans on Saturday. The incident occurred after Salam dismissed Gujarat's Shubman Gill, prompting an exuberant celebration that was deemed excessive by match officials.

The young bowler's celebration included jumping up and down, pumping his fists, and shouting. According to the IPL's Code of Conduct, such displays are considered to be "excessive" and can earn a penalty.

As a result, Salam has been slapped with a reprimand, which is the lowest level of disciplinary action under the Code of Conduct. The reprimand serves as a warning to Salam and reminds him to exercise restraint in his celebrations.

Despite the reprimand, Salam's performances for DC have been impressive. The skiddy right-arm fast bowler has emerged as a standout bowler for the team, showcasing his ability to swing the ball and generate movement off the pitch. He has played a crucial role in DC's recent successes, helping them secure important victories.
