Bruins' Pastrnak Signs 8-Year, $90M Extension

The Boston Bruins have signed forward David Pastrnak to an eight-year contract extension that will pay him $90 million, the team announced Monday.

The deal will keep Pastrnak, who turns 27 next month, with the Bruins through the 2029-30 season.

Pastrnak has been a key part of Boston's success in recent years, leading the team in scoring in each of the past two seasons.

The Czech Republic native has scored 20 goals or more in each of the past five seasons and has helped the Bruins reach the Stanley Cup Finals twice in that span.

"David is a special player and we are thrilled to have him under contract for the long term," Bruins general manager Don Sweeney said in a statement.

"He is a dynamic offensive player who can score goals and create chances for his teammates. He is also a responsible two-way player who plays hard in all three zones."

Pastrnak said he is excited to remain with the Bruins and help the team win a Stanley Cup.

"I love playing in Boston and I'm excited to be a part of this team for many years to come," Pastrnak said.

"We have a great group of guys and we're all working hard to win a championship."
