Russian Defaulted After Shouting At Line Judge During Heated Semi Final Clash

Rublev disqualified for unsportsmanlike conduct at Dubai Tennis Championships

Russian defaulted after shouting at line judge during heated semi-final clash

Andrey Rublev has been disqualified from the Dubai Tennis Championships for unsportsmanlike conduct after yelling at a line judge during his semi-final match against Alexander Bublik.

The incident occurred after Bublik had just won a point to take a 6-5 lead in the third set. Rublev, who was clearly frustrated, turned to the line judge and shouted at him. The umpire then disqualified Rublev from the match.

This is not the first time that Rublev has been involved in a controversy on the court. In 2020, he was fined for smashing his racket and swearing at a chair umpire during the US Open.

Rublev's disqualification from the Dubai Tennis Championships is a major blow to his hopes of winning the title. He was the top seed in the tournament and was one of the favorites to win.
