Team USA Dominates Serbia in Pre-Olympic Exhibition
Curry Leads the Way with Impressive Performance
Team USA continued their exhibition tour with a resounding victory over Serbia, 119-86, in Abu Dhabi on Saturday. The win marked Team USA's second straight win in the exhibition series, as they prepare for the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris.
Stephen Curry was the star of the show for Team USA, dropping 26 points on an efficient 10-of-17 shooting from the field. Curry also dished out 7 assists and grabbed 5 rebounds, showcasing his all-around game.
Dominant First Half
Team USA set the tone early in the game, racing out to a 33-18 lead in the first quarter. Curry scored 10 points in the opening period, while Kevin Durant added 8 points and 5 rebounds. The Americans continued to pour it on in the second quarter, extending their lead to 66-42 by halftime.
Serbia, led by Nikola Vucevic's 22 points, tried to rally in the second half, but Team USA was too strong. The Americans shot 52.7% from the field compared to Serbia's 42.3%, and they also outrebounded the Serbs 52-30.
Stephen Curry was simply unstoppable tonight," Team USA coach Gregg Popovich said after the game. "He's playing with a lot of confidence and poise right now, and he's making everyone around him better."
With the victory, Team USA improved to 2-0 on their exhibition tour. They will next face Spain in Barcelona on August 16th, before wrapping up the tour against Australia in Melbourne on August 20th.
