Cyber-Attack on CTS Leaves Homeowners and Buyers in Limbo
Massive disruption to property completions as IT provider hit by cyber-incident
Firms left unable to access emails, digital paperwork, and complete transactions
Homeowners and buyers have spoken of their serious stress after a cyber-attack played havoc with property completions. About 80 firms were thought to have suffered issues ranging from email and digital paperwork access issues to an inability to complete transactions.
The attack on law firm IT provider CTS plunged many conveyancing firms into crisis. As services are restored, the outage has caused significant disruption and delays to property transactions, leaving many homeowners and buyers in limbo.
WEB CTS last posted an update on its website and on X on Friday saying the outage was caused by a cyber-incident and that it was working with relevant authorities to resolve the issue. However, the company has not yet provided a timeline for when services will be fully restored.
