Fisherman Reels in Lego Shark Lost at Sea for 27 Years

Devon Fisherman Lands Rare Find

Plymouth Fisherman Makes History with Lego Catch

A fisherman from Devon has made an astonishing catch: a Lego shark that was lost at sea off a cargo ship nearly 30 years ago.

Richard West, 35, from Plymouth, stumbled upon the Lego toy while fishing near the Isles of Scilly. The shark, which measures about 10 centimeters in length, is believed to have been part of a shipment of toys that fell overboard from a container ship in 1997.

West's discovery marks the first time that a Lego shark from the infamous cargo ship incident has been found. Despite being submerged in the ocean for almost three decades, the toy remains in relatively good condition, albeit slightly battered and bruised.

The Lego shark has sparked interest from collectors and marine enthusiasts worldwide. West plans to donate the toy to a local museum, where it will be exhibited as a testament to the durability of these iconic building blocks.
